What,s first ?

So A little joke illustration on the puzzling question of the chicken & the egg...
The winner gets the girl, losers as always the eggs.

Shakespeare caracters

Here,s some stuff that I whant to sheare .
The characters are first sketched as caricatures then inked and scaned and finally assembled for designing the theater poster for Shakespeare,s play " The merry wives of Windsor".
As you may see the costumes are a curious mix of the 50,s fashion, and traditional period dresess.
I received the actors photos only their heads to be honest, and for many of them just one or two photos so I was left with little reference material ( for some of them ) for the actual drawings of the heads, as for the bodies I just guessed the bodytipes of persons by their heads. The colors except for the central drawing of Falstaff with the ladies, are by my very able friend & colorist Tony Anastasovsky.
The poster was printed in B1 dimension 100 x 70cm.
Eventually the theatre director went to enlarge and frame the copies of all the characters and hanged them on the wall of the theatre hall without bothering to include our names with them...
No further comment on that , nevertheless this type of theatre posters are scarce this days so I enjoyed working on it and I did it to please myself , the actors and the audience, as for director..............

Count D

It started as a lose sketch with the Count,s forhead on A4 paper no intention to make full scene out of it but as the drawing swiftly progressed and ad the wolf , castle and the surrounding . Since I used only black pen directly without pan scatch the Dracula,s stick came before the wolf so I made it to look as if the wolf is transparent and that gave the scene some mystery. If you spoted some mistakes in the drawing ( I know you will ) it, s o.k. remember It,s only a fun drawing after all.

the seducer

This illustration is done as a cover for the shampoo package.
First I prepared the b & w scatch, than finalized , the drawing with inc pencils and then coloured skin, hair and dress on a separate layers, ( relatively small number of them, though I did not include all used layers.After finishing all the separate color layers I flattened the image and pro ceded wit image corrections .

midsummer poster

This poster I did for one of our theater houses in Macedonia.

I started with raff sketch of the figure and then worked on new layer, the precise black and white drawing of the fairy and finished coloring of the faerie figure and putting some scanned leaves for faeiry,s dress. With complete figure painted I composed the background as a combination of several photos, set on overlay. With every element in place, I flattened the layers and worked with clone, dodge and burn tool on the final touches.
